Sustainability is at the heart of all we do at Tranquil Roots. We use ethically and responsibly sourced herbs and oils for all our hand-crafted herbal products, as well as reusable/recyclable vessels. Our hand-poured candles are made with 100% soy wax, Candlescience Cleanscents scent oils, and cotton wicks, using metal vessels which can be reused.
We are constantly seeking to learn about how to implement more sustainable practices in every aspect of our work.
I was lucky enough to win a raffle for Tranquil Roots during the Grow Expo, I wanted to wait until I got use out of the products to write a review.
The candles, I adore the scents I got and they last. I burned one in the bathroom and my bathroom still smelled like the candle 2 days later.

Have you ever picked up a new "hobby" only for it to spiral out of control as you became completely obsessed? Asking for a friend. Well, not really, because that may be exactly what happened to Tranquil Root’s founder, Brittany Van Werkhoven. It was just supposed to be a dozen different plants grown from seed.
153 plants later…
Yes. 153 plants wound up growing that year, with a collection of seeds growing to over 600 different heirloom varieties for future seasons.
At that point, Brittany knew it was time to turn her newfound passion into a business for two main reasons: 1. so she could share with her local community and 2. to justify the fact that her dining room floor was completely covered in seed trays while she waited for the ever elusive Midwestern spring weather to actually arrive!
And so Tranquil Roots...took root! And it quickly grew. Our products now include much more than plants: herbal teas and bath soaks, cleanscent candles and scented products, and epoxy resin jewelry!
